Connecting to the Internet

To connect to Zonerider, please follow these simple instructions:

Switch on your wireless laptop or PDA If using Windows XP then you can view Wireless networks. If you do not have Windows XP or MAC OS, make sure the Network Name (SSID) in your wireless software is set to zonerider all lowercase.

Start your internet browser E.g. Internet Explorer., Netscape., Safari., Opera.. And the Zonerider login page will automatically appear.

If login page does not appear type login in the URL address bar of your browser

Enter a username and password.

Prepaid voucher details, scratch-card details, or SMS codes and click ok. Alternatively buy a membership subscription direct from the login page.

You are now connected

You may now surf the Internet as normal. You will automatically log off if you switch off or power down your equipment. You will also log off automatically if you move out of wireless range. Alternatively, if you wish to log off manually, you may do so by typing in the address bar of your browser logout

Sending and Receiving Email

Web Mail

If you use a web based email service (e.g. Yahoo or Hotmail) you can use this service as usual once you are connected. You do not need to change any email settings

Desktop Email

If you use a desktop email client (e.g. MS Outlook. or Outlook Express., Eudora., Lotus CCmail.) you will be able to receive your e-mail as normal once you are connected.

SMTP (POP3)

For security purposes, you will need to make a slight change to your outgoing email settings:

Open your e-mail managers accounts settings and locate your POP3 and SMTP setting. Please make a note of your current setting, as you may want to restore this later.
Set the SMTP to .mail.zonerider.net. if you have a Zonerider mailbox, you can also set your POP3 settings to mail.zonerider.net . if so you will need to key in your Zonerider Username and Password into the POP3 mail box settings.
Click on more settings and select the Outgoing Server tab Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Select logon using and key in your Zonerider Username and Password in the available fields.
Send your email as usual.

Advanced settings

Disable WEP or other encryption (our Hotspots are provided over SSL)
Disable any internet explorer proxies.
Make sure you are automatically assigned an IP address in the TCP IP settings
Check wireless advanced settings and ensure Access point (Infrastructure) networksonly is selected

VPN

You can launch your VPN to access your corporate network, at any of the Zonerider Hotspots Worldwide.
