Zonerider is nothing short of a miracle With our simple patent pending Hotspot Software technology we are switching on many thousands of wireless networks the world over to become Hotspots, and our job wont be over till that number reaches millions.

Back in the day when Wifi first made its debut, there was much ballyhoo – and there still is – about piggybacking or using an internet connection, while parked outside hotels and cafes. This caused many people to “lock down” their networks.

Zonerider is the first of its kind to offer an alternative. We can truly bring back that euphoria of open Wireless networks, if more people are willing to share. think of Zonerider as a people powered broadband network.

Since we started in 2005, every month Zonerider has paid businesses and individuals worldwide for sharing their broadband.

Levi Russell – CEO and Founder

A technological visionary, Levi began his career in telecoms at IDT a tier 1 carrier and creator of Net2Phone a pioneer in VOIP technologies. Whilst at IDT, he came up with the concept and drove forward his business model for prepaid internet cash, and data aggragation which was an early pioneer of what is today known as the Open ID Project, spearheaded by Microsoft, Google, IBM, Yahoo and Verisign. Prior to that, Levi was Senior Associate at D.E. Shaw & Company, becoming head of trade corporate actions and trade investigation groups. This followed working as a Senior Associate for Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette in London, specialising in in-house data processing systems; He was also team leader for securities clearing. His first job, after graduation was a traineeship at Zurich Investments Ltd. in London, where he benefited from the guidance of hedge fund pioneer Robert Neis. Levi has also been involved in assisting various startup technology groups and incubating early stage VOIP companies.

Adam Palmer – CTO

Adam Palmer is a specialist in Linux technologies, wireless networking and security & penetration testing. With over six years experience, he has accumulated the abilities to solve virtually any technical issues brought before him. After traveling internationally with his previous consultancy firm to conduct complex network installations, he moved on to graduate from the Technology Innovation Centre with a distinction in Computer Technology.

Grahame Davies – LINX - Easynet - Demon

Grahame is Chairman of LINX (The London Internet Exchange - the largest peering point in the EME&A region) and was Group MD for Easynet PLC. a Tier 1 - pan-European Internet Service Provider. Grahame currently holds directorships with several internet industry organizations including Nominet (the .uk domain registry), and IWF (the Internet Watch Foundation which runs a hotline for illegal content). Grahame was a programmer of computer systems when the idea of communication networks attracted him. He became a pioneer of Internet access and in 1992 co-founded Demon Internet the UK’s first ISP

Phil Mochan – Compere Capital – BT

Phil is an Entrepreneurial and Mergers Acquisition specialist in the Telecoms & Media sector with more than twenty years experience. Most notably In 2000 Mr. Mochan led the €1.6bn acquisition for Deutsch Kabel and in July of that same year he won the €1bn auction for Com Hem, in a deal financed by JP Morgan and Hicks Muse. The following year and in conjunction with West LB Mr. Mochan successfully bid £25bn for BT’s wholesale business. Phil has held Advisory positions for Swisscom, Telia, Cap Gemini, and Bossard Consulting. Most recently Mr. Mochan has been involved in several startups. A graduate of Dundee University Phil began as an Engineer and achieved further qualifications in Marketing and Finance.

Chris Gare – Cable and Wireless – Microsoft – Motorola – Texas Instruments

Chris Gare is currently active as an advisor to innovative high-tech companies in the telecommunications and Internet industries. In 2000 he co-founded Nexagent, a company focusing on the automation of IP-based multi-provider network services that was acquired by EDS (HP) in 2008. Before Nexagent, Chris worked eight years at Cable & Wireless' Group Technology team as Vice President, Advanced Services and pioneered and championed early IP service and application deployment in its business units around the world. These included MPLS-based IP-VPNs, VoIP, mobile data services, interactive TV, wireless access services, home networks and softswitch IP-PSTN integration. Prior to Cable & Wireless, he spent seven years as Corporate Marketing Director with European Silicon Structures (ES2), a European ASIC company. Chris also worked for a number of years in the PC software industry where he was European Managing Director for Perfect Software, the first company to bundle personal productivity tools with PCs. Before this, he opened Microsoft's first European office and served as European Managing Director. Chris also worked for Texas Instruments and Motorola Semiconductors in microprocessor product marketing and sales roles. He started his hi-tech career in the early 1970s in ICL's Research and Advanced Development Centre in Stevenage where he evaluated Intel’s first dynamic memories and microprocessors. Chris graduated with Honours in Physical Electronics from Rutherford College of Technology and has been a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) since 1986.
